About Us
WHAW
A small group of West Hendon residents, established West Hendon Arts and Wellness (WHAW) in late 2022. We wanted to see West Hendon blossom again as the thriving community people who’ve live there a good while remember.
West Hendon Residents come from across the globe, many came decades or generations ago, others have come recently to the UK. Our aim is to bring the diverse national, religious, cultural and other communities living in the area together at events and through activities. The idea is that these events will help people get to know each other, make friends, learn about each other’s history and cultures, and have fun together.
WHAW’s volunteer organising team is small (5 people), energetic and determined. Over 2023 we showed we could make events happen and people would attend and participate

Event Manager + Therapist
I’ve lived in Hendon for most of my life and I've seen it change rapidly over the years. My passion as an events organizer and wellness coach is to provide a space for the community to connect as it grows.
Now that we are a CIC we hope to achieve a wider range of weekly wellness events and a yearly cultural festival

Naomi Stanford
Fundraiser + Community Coordinator
I’ve been in West Hendon just 4 years. It’s a great neighbourhood seeing massive redevelopment and change.
I believe people thrive if they feel a sense of belonging and that’s what I hope WHAW CIC can help develop.

Event Producer + Treasurer
West Hendon’s been home to me and my family for 12 years. We love it here. The Welsh Harp and being close to nature is very special to us as being close to nature is. We enjoy the range of wildlife around us whilst living in the heart of a big city
I believe people need joy, fun and a channel for their creativity. WHAW CIC offers people all these through the events we put on.
